About Yourself:
Adam Scott Miller (3:00am, March 9, 1984) resides in Baltimore, Maryland with his partner and fellow artist Erica DePaolo (null-cipher.deviantart.com), and their kitten Rosetta. He has a BFA in Illustration from the Maryland Institute College of Art and has been accepted as one of ten from over a thousand applicants into the prestigious Fine Art Work Center Master of Fine Arts program, part of the Massachusetts College of Art. Recently in his career, he has been illustrator for Sub Rosa since Issue 2 (www.dailygrail.com), won a Society of Illustrators competition, illustrating for Mystic Valley Media, working on commissioned paintings, and now is beginning work on album art and video projections for the magnificent band Chrysalis.
He has long since had a thirst for knowledge and a yearning for understanding that has stimulated him to absorb a large and diverse body of information.
In terms of reading, the authors Alan Moore, Annie Dillard, Grant Morrison, Terence McKenna, Robert Anton Wilson, Carl Jung, Carlos Castaneda, Graham Hancock, and Michael Talbot have all made great impressions on his worldly sense.
In visual discernment, he has been most influenced by the work of Susan Waters-Eller, Alex Grey, Paul Laffoley, and the Lady Frieda Harris - Aleister Crowley ‘Thoth Tarot’ deck. As for listening to music, the artists of Tool, Shpongle, Tori Amos, and Dead Can Dance have principally fueled his fire.
The reoccurring themes in his work are an integral blend of cathartic gnostic mysticism, quantum physics, the holographic principle, collective consciousness, multidimensionality, mythology, sociopolitics, and sacred geometry.
His aim is to unite the compartmentalized paradigms of science with an esoteric understanding of the operations of the world, and of us as individuals, thereby illuminating the implicit meaning behind the elements that compose our reality. His intent as an artist is to engage and communicate meaning that is inherent, yet rarely seen.
He attempts to point to the ‘numinous’, which is characterized by the quintessential qualities of the sacred: mystery, awe, fascination, inspiration, and satisfaction. This experience he strives to depict is nature’s organismic being/becoming and the state of human affairs in relation to the whole.
His technical skills include drawing, painting, digital art & design, video editing and special effects. His traditional media repertoire includes charcoal, sum-ink, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oil. His digital-art body of knowledge includes Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Premiere, After Effects and Corel Painter.
Adam is utterly devoted to his art, intent on informing, inspiring and facilitating positive change of our world. He is a full-time professional illustrator and fine artist hoping to be working with you soon.

What is the reason of your present relationship to digital/traditional art?
I try to keep my relationships balanced.

Reason for the Psychedelic style?
Reality itself is fundamentally psychedelic considering the knowledge of what composes it.

Thoughts while creating artworks? What do you try n express through your works?

Is not it easier to create art by classical ways, by classic painting - for example?
The idea is to communicate significantly meaningful information in a powerful manner. Whatever medium you find is most suited to that intent is fine. I think that traditional painting, as in using a pigment with binder (i.e. acrylic, oil) requires much effort and expense, but is more intimate and satisfying.

Selling your art online?
If the intent is to reach as many minds as possible, the internet is an invaluable venue.

Any out of this world experiences, you would like to share with us?
An "out of this world" experience would be being genuinely in this one. Strapped into your center, here and now, you can go anywhere. Realize that we are embedded in the bejeweled network of the multidimensional spacetime continuum of loving clear light.

sign for the commun and fun ! and nice & interesting to see what everyone comes up with, no matter how awesum, good or ok you

Happy Holidays THis time we have the christmas theme in our contest, and so we named the contest The Psychedelichristmas

Contest.

Theme: PSYCHEDELICHRISTMAS
The artwork should have a PSYCHEDELIChristmas theme to it.

No matter what the content is in the artwork but it should in some way look "psychedelic" for the sole purpose of our club.
eg. vivid colours, patterns etc
Since we have a christmas theme based contest, your artwork must contain elements of christmas in it...eg. Santa, Xmas

Tree, Reindeers, Toys, Turkey, Grinch etc...

Please respect DA's submission policies.

WINNER in each Category gets 3 months subscription

Two Categories:
1.) Traditional Art.
2.) Digital Art.

About Yourself:
Born in 1973. Drawing has been my way of self expression since a small boy. Today I am self learned visionary artist. I’m mostly known in Finnish psytrance-scene from my black light paintings. I also make decorations, videos and sometimes music. My current world view is Neo Shamanic. I believe that artist in modern society has the role of shaman. Art is how the mystic mind expanding horizons of visionary journeys come to life for the community.

Your own creations who u love the most:
A hard question. My recent work is in my own preference the best. But I guess what I love the most are not the final creations, but the process of creating.

What is the reason of your present relationship to digital/traditional art?
I have background in 90's Amiga scene, pixelling and later 3D graphics, so digital art is not a new thing for me. When I rediscovered my childhood plaything: the traditional art I found it more natural and intuitive way to work.. But I try to upkeep and upgrade my skills and knowledge in both digital and traditional art. There is much potential in computer generated animation that interests me greatly.

Reason for the Psychedelic style?
I rather call my work visionary art or psychedelic surrealism than just psychedelic. Generally psychedelic art is very different than most of my art. In my opinion the mystic nature of psychedelic experience is more important than reproduction of generic visual hallucinations. Although I do enjoy wild patterns and colors.
I think my hunger for sci-fi and stuff like as a kind that 'corrupted' my inner space with all kinds of crazy imagery. Entheogenic experiences later in life have brought me to a point where there is no other kind of art for me.

Thoughts while creating artworks? What do you try n express through your works?
My thoughts are quite overwhelmed by visions of the artwork itself. What I’m painting becomes my perception.
I believe that spiritual growth is worth taking risks. Sometimes I fear that visionary and psychedelic art encourage people to do trips they are not prepared to handle.

Is not it easier to create art by classical ways, by classic painting - for example?
I'm not quite sure what you mean here? I have not studied in any art school, so I don't know much about painting techniques they teach. My own technique is a variation of mische technique.

Selling your art online?
There are some prints available in DA. I'm currently working to release my own poster & postcard portfolio collection. I always take serious offers for all my original work also.
